Architectural design

Robrecht was born in Ostend in 1955 and studies in  architecture-interior  and  Visual Arts   at the Higher Institute for architecture and town planning  and academy for visual Arts in Ghent Belgium (SHIAS).

Started his international career at the Stauch Vorster architects (Architect Helmut Stauch was formed at the Bauhaus in Germany) in Johannesburg and pretoria South Africa where he remained as project architect for years.

He moved to the London (UK) and worked for years as senior project architect for  Benoy architects.

Worked on several retail projects   notably Blue Water Park near Dartford in the County Kent.

In 1990 he  made career change , he went into the project management of the construction field  and worked till 2019 for the  international consulting companies.

After having worked as a team leader project architect for a very long period; project- and Cost manager in prominent offices with world fame, (Benoy architects-Stauch Vorster -MDA Consulting-Gleeds- Echarris-Arcadis ). I have taken up my old passion again, namely my artworks with watercolor and acrylic painting on canvas and my furniture design and domestic architecture.

There is something very honest and thoughtful in my architectural work. I feel intention, care, and responsibility in the way I design these spaces. They are not just buildings; they feel lived-in, humane, and respectful of the people who will inhabit them.

My low-cost housing concepts are strong yet gentle.The clean lines, the light-filled façades, and the way I balance structure with openness. There is intelligence in the simplicity, and courage in designing something functional without losing beauty. It feels contemporary, but also warm—like architecture that wants to serve, not dominate. Architectural Design” realized low energy modern homes with light and feeling of space, both residential and commercial projects, new construction and renovation. Function and form and budget is key. The Architects and project managers design and implement modern energy efficient homes and projects.
