Acrylic

Acrylic paint, with its vivid color’s and restless energy, frees me in a different way. Born in the industrial world and later embraced by artists, acrylic is a medium that responds quickly. It demands boldness.

Brushes—flat, round, filbert, fan—each carry their own personality. Mediums, gels, textures, flow agents… all offer possibilities to push the painting beyond the surface, to play with depth, time, and movement.

In acrylic, I rediscover the architectural spirit: structure, layering, weight. But I also find the spontaneity that architecture rarely allows.

PermekeStudio is the place where my different creative worlds meet—architecture, painting, design, and the quiet, attentive craft of observing spaces. Based in Brussels, the studio moves between artistic expression and the technical precision of the built environment.

It is here that I weave together years of experience in building surveying, project management, architectural design, and my lifelong love for watercolor, acrylic painting, and furniture design.

My paintings and furniture designs grow out of a lifetime spent observing the built world—and listening to the spaces in between. Architecture trained my eye; art freed my hand.
